THE

This video shares the story of the NWU's ongoing pursuit of unlimited greatness, and how the university inspires and enables others to shape their own journeys as the institution continues on its journey toward greatness.

FRONT
PAGE IMAGE

The image on the front page – a dynamic continuous movement – symbolises our theme, Our continued journey. A journey is much more than the passage of time or movement from one point to another – it is a process of change, of adapting, of evolving and of making a difference as you move along the path you have set out for yourself. This is something that the NWU knows well. Since embarking on a new and exciting journey from the merger in 2004 to the present, the NWU has experienced continued growth and transformed into a leading higher education institution that not only has impact locally, but also in Africa and the rest of the world.

This is the more concise version of the integrated annual report that was approved by the NWU Council on 24 June 2025 and submitted to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). The full report is available on the NWU website. We welcome your feedback on our reporting approach – please share your comments or suggestions with our registrar, Prof Marlene Verhoef.

At the NWU, we want everyone to feel at home – and language plays an important role in creating that sense of belonging. In line with our functional multilingual language policy, you will find "language choice buttons" that allow you to read selected sections or topics in Setswana, Sesotho or Afrikaans.
